Monday, 10th September

LIZ DOTESIO (Course Reference: 10/09/18/LD) £125

Still life in Soft Pastel or Oils

Still life can be such an adventure. My aim is for us to tackle the still life in a painterly way. The challenge will be to avoid reproducing the objects in a photographic way but rather to add your own style and personality to the study. Special attention will be given to how to maintain a tonal balance throughout your painting, what to do with backgrounds and the importance of the negative space. Painters of all abilities very welcome.

Tuesday, 18th September

PAUL WEAVER (Course Reference: 18/09/18/PW) £125

Drawing from Observation

Drawing is a fundamental creative skill, a way of seeing the world around us, exploring form, structure, perspective, texture and tone, as well as developing ideas for possible paintings. Paul will guide you through his techniques for sketching and drawing from life in pencil, charcoal, pen and ink, taking the surrounding gardens, house and views as inspiration. Suitable for all levels.

Saturday and Sunday, 22nd - 23rd September (TWO DAYS)

WENDY JELBERT (Course Reference: 22/09/18/WJ) £250

Atmospheric Watercolours

We will be capturing the elusive and magical weather and seasonal effects on our landscapes, including mists, storms, night scenes, and sunsets. Full guidance at every stage with 'tips and tricks', so you are able to paint convincing dramatic or tender paintings. Demonstrations and guidance at every stage. A real 'must' for painters that adore light, sparkle and a variety of ethereal moods in their future work! We will be adding extra materials such as quink ink, salts and cling film, and sterodent, into our watercolours to add variety and fun into these 2 memorable days.
